How to Donate

Donate online now in order to help the Canadian Red Cross Society, Manitoba Region, help those families affected byt the Flood of 2009.

Donations can also be made by phone at 1-800-418-1111 or in person at Red Cross offices in Winnipeg and Brandon.

Credit Union outlets connected to the Credit Union Central of Manitoba are also accepting donations, as are Canada Safeway stores throughout Manitoba.

Funds will help supply much-needed relief items such as information, food, basic repairs, household goods, occupational needs and clean-up kits equipped with general cleaning supplies. Red Cross is continuing to assess needs for flood-affected residents. Red Cross works in partnership with provincial and municipal organizations and governments to provide assistance. Red Cross support will not duplicate insurance or other government assistance. In the unlikely event that funds collected for the Manitoba Flood Response exceed the needs of the affected population, excess funds will be retained for use in future disasters within Manitoba.

The Canadian Red Cross Manitoba Region is actively involved in responding to the Manitoba flood of 2009. In addition to registering over 1,400, Red Cross has also distributed hundreds of comfort and clean-up kits to evacuees, providing adults, children, and infants with basic hygiene needs, as well as mops, brooms and other cleaning supplies needed to begin the clean-up process. As the flood waters subside, Red Cross begins the challenging work of distributing flood recovery assistance made possible through charitable donations.
